Job Responsibilities

We are currently seeking a Senior Financial Analyst located either at our corporate headquarters in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania or our Utility and Industrial Products business unit office in Eutawville, South Carolina. This is an 80+% in-office role. Reporting to the Senior Global Director FP&A, you will lead the analysis of financial plans, forecasts and operational results for our domestic utility pole business. As a Senior FP&A Analyst, you'll work collaboratively with many cross-functional teams including UIP management, controllership, operations and corporate finance to align on financial results. In order to be successful, you will have to quickly learn the utility pole business and industry and use your analytical skills to effectively analyze and interpret financial results, lead the monthly and quarterly forecasts, perform variance analysis and identify risks and opportunities that are critical to the success of this business.

  • Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, internal reports, KPI dashboards, and executive materials to support business decisions.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and performance analysis by identifying key financial and non-financial business drivers and monitoring results against plans and targets.
  • Develop and maintain sales, cost, profitability, capital project, cash flow, and strategic models, including ROI, lookback, acquisition, and product/customer profitability analyses.
  • Analyze procurement, labor, production, logistics, sales, margin, expense, incentive, pricing, contract, and customer program activity to provide actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Assist with standardization and continuous improvement of financial processes, reporting workflows, KPIs, and governance models across business units.
  • Support ERP, Oracle, PBCS, and reporting tool implementations and upgrades by translating finance requirements into system capabilities, documenting processes, resolving issues, and promoting adoption.
  • Serve alongside the Business Unit Controller as a primary finance liaison with UIP Operations/Management and Corporate Finance.
  • Lead and facilitate operational finance meetings and workshops to gather requirements, communicate changes, align priorities, and support collaborative decision making.
  • Provide financial guidance to business units and project teams on costs, capital projects, commitments, performance, and special initiatives.
  • Demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, professionalism, time management, accountability, receptiveness to feedback, and commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
  • Promote cross-training, support coworkers during absences and high-volume periods, work independently with minimal supervision, prioritize routine responsibilities, and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Travel 20-25% required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline required; MBA, master's degree, CPA, CMA, CFA, or ERP-related certification preferred.
  • 5-7+ years of progressive finance or FP&A experience, preferably in a fast-paced public, multinational, industrial, manufacturing, or chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Strong financial analysis, forecasting, valuation, business analytics, and modeling skills, including advanced Excel, PowerQuery, database modeling, and data visualization/dashboarding tools.
  • Experience with P&L management, full-cycle accounting, revenue and inventory analysis, standard costing, bill-of-materials, and management reporting.
  • Hands-on ERP/accounting systems experience, preferably with Oracle, Hyperion/Essbase/SmartView, Microsoft Dynamics NAV, LumberTrack or similar platforms; ERP implementation or systems analysis experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deliverables, prioritize competing deadlines, lead projects, and shift between tactical execution and strategic analysis.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial audiences and collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Self-directed, results-oriented professional with strong judgment, initiative, integrity, confidentiality, and the ability to work through ambiguity or take independent positions when needed.
