Job description

The Grains Operator-Seasonal role provides general labor and operational support to the Grains Department. This position assists with housekeeping, cleaning, grounds maintenance, basic equipment and facility upkeep, and other general labor duties as assigned.The position works under the direction of Grains Department personnel and is expected to follow all company safety policies, procedures, and work instructions.Essential ResponsibilitiesAssist Grains Department personnel with general labor and day-to-day operational needs. Perform routine cleaning and housekeeping throughout assigned grain handling and storage areas. Sweep, shovel, and remove grain, dust, debris, and other materials from work areas. Assist with maintaining clean and orderly grain receiving areas, equipment areas, walkways, and grounds. Perform general outdoor cleanup, including removal of debris and other materials as directed. Assist with basic facility and equipment upkeep under the direction of qualified personnel. Operate approved equipment only after receiving required training and authorization. Notify the supervisor of equipment problems, unsafe conditions, spills, or other concerns. Assist other Grains Department employees with tasks within the employee's training and authorization.QualificationsEducation and Required ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent.Ability to read, understand, speak, and communicate effectively in English at a level sufficient to follow work instructions, safety procedures, training materials, warning signs, and emergency communications.Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation.Ability to work safely in an industrial, outdoor, and variable-weather environment.This position is seasonal and will last until mid-January.
