SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Senior Business Analyst, eCommerce serves as a strategic analytics partner to the eCommerce team—transforming complex data into clear, actionable insights that drive business decisions and aggressive revenue growth performance.

This role goes beyond reporting to deliver the “so what” and “now what”, helping the team identify growth opportunities, improve forecast accuracy, optimize merchandising strategies, and strengthen overall eCommerce execution.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical capabilities with business acumen and thrives in a fast-paced environment where data directly impacts decisions across sales, supply chain, merchandising, and product strategy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Drive Business Insights & Growth

  • Identify and quantify key eCommerce growth drivers across traffic, conversion, merchandising, pricing, promotions, and channel mix
  • Conduct deep-dive analyses on demand trends, seasonality, and competitive positioning utilizing market share data and other tools
  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations that drive revenue growth, profitability, and operational performance

Deliver Scalable Analytics & Visibility

  • Develop and maintain KPI dashboards that provide real-time visibility into business performance
  • Automate reporting processes to improve efficiency and enable faster decision-making
  • Leverage modern analytics and automation tools (including AI-driven workflows) to enhance insight generation and productivity

Enable Demand Planning & Supply Chain Decisions

  • Analyze Amazon demand patterns, forecast accuracy, and supply chain performance
  • Identify gaps between demand, inventory, and forecast signals to reduce risk (e.g., stockouts, excess inventory)
  • Partner with Sales and Supply Chain teams to improve forecasting, demand planning, and inventory decisions

Support Product & Portfolio Strategy & Merchandising Execution

  • Provide insights to improve product placement, assortment strategies, and key account performance
  • Evaluate and optimize merchandising tactics, including product variants, bundling, pricing, promotions, advertising and shipping strategies
  • Support Product Development with data-driven insights on SKU rationalization, category performance, and channel dynamics
  • Connect performance data across channels to support portfolio decisions

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to connect data insights to strategic and operational business outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, digitally driven environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in eCommerce reporting, including POS, advertising, supply chain, and P&L analytics.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Data Analytics, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA, MS in Analytics, etc.) highly desired.
  • 5+ years of experience in eCommerce analytics, business intelligence, with proven experience translating data into actionable business insights and recommendations
  • Direct experience working with Amazon is required; experience with Walmart.com is highly preferred. Must demonstrate ability to expand expertise to additional customers and platforms.
  • Strong business acumen with ability to connect analytics to revenue, profitability, and operational outcomes; experience analyzing performance across multiple drivers
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Sales, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Product teams
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Expert ability to leverage data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.) and working SQL/Python/R knowledge to provide insights.
  • Ability to travel (up to 15%) as needed for business reviews and enterprise initiatives
