Job description

Compensation: $90,000–$110,000 USD base salary, commensurate with experience

About Landline

Landline is building decentralized aviation infrastructure that extends the airport beyond its boundaries and offers passengers a magical way to get to their destination. Through Landline Portals and our Regional Connect service, passengers in smaller cities can head straight to their gate by clearing security and checking bags locally and seamlessly connecting to flights at hub airports. We partner with major airlines including American Airlines, Air Canada, and Delta, and work closely with airports, TSA, CLEAR, and municipal partners across the U.S. and Canada.

About the Role

The Landline Company is hiring a Senior Manager, Marketing & Branding to lead this function through the next stage of our company’s growth. This is a full-time, in-house role for a marketing generalist who can operate as both strategist and executor. Someone who thinks in terms of brand and long-term positioning but is equally comfortable running the day-to-day work of passenger acquisition, partnerships, and local market activation.

Reporting to the Managing Director of Product & Marketing, this role will work cross-functionally with different business teams to connect marketing strategy to broader company goals. You will own the marketing budget and be expected to have awareness of your "blind spots," bringing in outside support (agencies, freelance creative, design tools, or a junior team member) where it makes smart business sense to do so.

We're looking for someone who has operated between early-stage and established organizations, is comfortable building processes and infrastructure where none exist, and is disciplined enough to do things the right way. A bias toward “done is better than perfect” is essential.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and own the overall marketing and brand strategy for Landline, balancing near-term passenger acquisition goals with long-term brand building for both Portals and Regional Connect.
  • Build a repeatable local marketing playbook for new route launches, then lead its execution via ongoing marketing for each market across digital, out-of-home (OOH), and earned media.
  • Lead passenger acquisition efforts across direct response channels (e.g., Google, Meta, and other paid/digital channels), in partnership with outside agencies or contractors where needed.
  • Build and manage a network of local and regional partnerships, community relationships, and grassroots/on-the-ground initiatives that drive awareness and ridership market by market.
  • Serve as the go-to point of contact for local partners (airports, municipalities, tourism boards, and hotels/resorts in leisure markets) building relationships that support route launches and ongoing local marketing.
  • Represent Landline directly with corporate marketing teams at major airline partners (e.g., American Airlines, Air Canada, Sun Country) on co-branded campaigns and coordinated launch marketing for new routes and markets.
  • Build the internal case for marketing investment using data on acquisition, ridership, and route performance to advocate for marketing budget and resources against other company priorities.
  • Develop and execute go-to-market and marketing plans for new routes, new markets, and new products (including Portals locations).
  • Manage relationships with outside agencies and freelance/contract resources across media, creative, design, sourcing, briefing, and hold them accountable to results.
  • Oversee brand identity, voice, and creative standards across all passenger touchpoints, including advertising, digital presence, in-market signage, and airline co-marketing materials.
  • Build the internal marketing function over time, including identifying and hiring junior support (e.g., a coordinator) for execution-level work such as copywriting, ad content, and local outreach.
  • Manage the marketing budget, allocating resources across paid media, agency support, creative/design tools, partnerships, and traditional advertising.
  • Partner closely with the Managing Director of Product & Marketing and other company leaders to ensure marketing strategy is connected to broader business priorities and the passenger experience.
  • Track, report on, and iterate against key marketing, ridership, and acquisition metrics.

What You Bring:

  • 8–10 years of marketing experience, with a track record of increasing responsibility.
  • In-house brand marketing experience, with a focus on customer acquisition and direct response channels.
  • Hands-on experience managing digital marketing (e.g., Google, Meta) in support of B2C sales
  • Experience managing partnerships and community or grassroots marketing initiatives.
  • Experience marketing to specific, localized geographies — e.g., building and tailoring campaigns city-by-city or market-by-market rather than a single national strategy (Landline operates across regional markets and hub airports in the U.S. and Canada).
  • Experience developing and implementing marketing strategy for a new product or service, for expansion into a new market, or for a new route/location launch.
  • Experience managing outside agencies or contractors across both creative and media, including out-of-home (OOH) and earned media/PR.
  • A strategic, big-picture mindset to connect marketing decisions to broader business and brand goals
  • Ability to build a data-driven case for marketing investment and effectively advocate for budget and resources against competing company priorities.
  • Comfortable representing the company externally with corporate marketing counterparts at major partners (e.g., airlines) to plan and execute joint marketing efforts.
  • Comfort operating with the resources and pace of a company between start-up and established — building processes without over-engineering them.
  • Experience in travel, hospitality, or aviation is a strong plus.
  • Experience with service-based, locally-operated businesses is a plus.
