Idea Peddler is seeking a freelance Campaign Copywriter with agency experience to support destination, tourism, hospitality, and place-based marketing initiatives.
We are looking for a builder.
Someone who understands agency life, can work quickly, and knows how to take a partially developed concept and expand it into a campaign.
This role is less about creating the original strategy and more about helping bring strategic and creative ideas to life through language.
Additional consideration will be given to candidates with destination, tourism, hospitality, hotel, resort, or travel industry experience.
Experience
  • 4-7 years of advertising agency experience
  • Portfolio demonstrating campaign development and advertising work
  • Experience developing headlines, campaign extensions, and messaging systems
  • Hospitality, destination, travel, tourism, lifestyle, or experience-based brands preferred
What You'll Do
  • Develop campaign headlines and advertising copy
  • Create hooks, messaging territories, and campaign extensions
  • Build tone-of-voice systems and messaging frameworks
  • Expand strategic and creative concepts into executable campaigns
  • Develop multiple routes, options, and variations
  • Write across digital, print, social, video, outdoor, experiential, and presentation formats
  • Support Creative Directors and Strategists throughout concept development

The Right Candidate
You are comfortable receiving:
  • A strategic insight
  • A campaign territory
  • A positioning statement
  • A creative concept
  • A rough idea on a whiteboard

And turning it into:
  • Headlines
  • Hooks
  • Messaging frameworks
  • Campaign extensions
  • Tone systems
  • Advertising executions
  • Long-term campaign language

You are not expected to lead the strategy.
You are expected to help build the work.
You know how to generate options, explore possibilities, and help ideas become campaigns.
Portfolio Requirements
Please submit:
  • Portfolio website or PDF
  • 3-5 examples of advertising campaign work
  • Examples demonstrating headline development and campaign expansion
  • Brief description of your role on each project
