Job description

Greenleaf Corporation is looking for Machine Operators for our facility in Saegertown, PA to set up and operate machining equipment for the producing of machined carbide and ceramic cutting tips to precision tolerances on CNC end form, CNC O.D., NC land and other support grinders.

Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret router, blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, set-up procedures, control settings, and machining methods and sequences. May make adjustments to program and report problems to supervisor or programmer.
  • Load control media in machine controller or enter commands to retrieve preprogrammed instruction from database.
  • Calculate and set machine controls to position spindle in relationship to work piece and to regulate factors such as grinding speed, feed rates, and clearance angles.
  • Mount, align, and secure tooling, attachments, and work piece.
  • Select and install grinding wheel on machine spindle. Dress wheel as required.
  • Verify operations of ventilation equipment and other safety devices.
  • Start machine and monitor display and machine operation to detect malfunctions.
  • Verify dimension and finished work piece for conformance to specifications.
  • Enter commands or manually adjust machine controls to correct malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining.
  • Access input and control input into Manufacturing Process System.
  • Load carbide and ceramic tips and other ceramic special parts into various machines, perform daily production machining operations to applicable production and quality standards and unload.
  • Monitor machine operations, make adjustments as required. Report machine malfunction to supervisor.
  • Load into and unload parts from washer. Move stock into and out of department using wheeled carts.
  • Visually inspect all parts for missing or incomplete operations. Gage and indicate machined characteristics to quality standards.
  • Deliver to and retrieve parts from inspection lab as required. Also perform some lab operations.
  • Perform specified equipment maintenance, cleaning and lubrication.

Qualifications: Must have high school diploma or GED. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
