PART-TIME MARKETING & TRADE SHOW ASSISTANT

Owl Vision — Wellesley, MA (hybrid, mostly remote)

16–20 hours per week · $20.00–23.00 per hour · Fixed term, ending December 31, 2026

This is a part-time job. It is not a co-op and not an internship. It is not

registered with Northeastern's co-op program and will not count toward a co-op

requirement.

Plan on flying out December 7 and returning December 11. Airfare, hotel and

December 15, 16, 17, 2026

DoubleTree by Hilton Manchester Downtown, Manchester, NH

Booth setup: afternoon of Monday, December 14

Teardown: end of day Thursday, December 17

Lodging and meals covered; all hours paid, travel time included.

Together, roughly December 7 through 17 is spoken for. Please look at that

window honestly before you apply.

The two shows conflict with different things. Grand Rapids falls during the

last week of fall classes — you would be missing class, which is usually

something you can arrange with your professors in advance. Manchester falls

inside the final examination period (December 14–20), and an exam generally

cannot be moved.

Manchester is required. Grand Rapids we would very much like you on, but we

would rather hear an honest no than a maybe. Tell us in your application what

that week looks like for you.

ABOUT OWL VISION

Owl Vision builds camera-based remote insect monitoring devices for commercial

orchards and farms. Our traps photograph pest insects in the field and run them

through a computer vision model, so growers know what is flying and when —

without walking the block to check paper traps by hand. We currently have

devices deployed across roughly a dozen commercial customers in the Northeast

and Midwest.

We are a small team. Whoever takes this role will work directly with the founder

and see the whole business, not one slice of it.

THE ROLE

You will help us reach growers and keep our pipeline organized. The work splits

into two parts: ongoing weekly work, and the shows in December.

This is not a technical role and it is not a closing role. You will not be asked

to answer agronomy questions, troubleshoot hardware, or quote prices — those all

come back to the founder. What we need is someone reliable, friendly, and

organized.

ONGOING WORK (16–20 HOURS PER WEEK)

• Respond to inbound inquiries using approved templates, and route anything

  technical to the founder

• Keep our CRM (Close) accurate and current

• Research and build prospect lists — commercial orchards, vegetable growers,

  university extension programs, and agricultural distributors

• Prepare materials for trade shows and grower meetings

• Track competitor products and pricing

• Draft simple marketing copy and one-pagers

AT THE SHOWS

You will staff our booth alongside the founder. The goal is not to sell anything

on the floor. It is to make sure growers who walk past know we exist, and to

book them a call with our founder.

• Greet visitors and introduce Owl Vision in a sentence or two

• Guide interested growers to scan a QR code and book a call — this is the main

  measure of success

• Collect contact information and log it the same day

• Play our product video and show the physical trap on the table

• Write down technical questions and pass them back to us — you are not expected

  to answer them

• Help with booth setup and teardown

We will give you a short FAQ card with approved answers to the eight or so

questions that actually come up. For anything beyond that, the right answer is:

"That's a good question and I don't want to give you the wrong answer — can I

get your email so Richard can follow up directly?"

Growers respect that. It works better than guessing.

The weeks right after the shows matter as much as the shows themselves. Turning

a stack of business cards into booked calls is the part of this job that decides

whether the December trips were worth taking.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Required

• Currently enrolled at Northeastern University

• Comfortable introducing yourself to strangers and starting a conversation

• Organized — accurate notes, same-day data entry, nothing falls through the

  cracks

• Clear, professional written English

• Available 16–20 hours per week during the semester, and all three days in

  Manchester in December

• Authorized to work in the United States

Helpful, not required

• Interest in agriculture, food systems, or environmental science

• Prior event, retail, hospitality, or other customer-facing work

• Familiarity with a CRM, or with basic marketing tools

• A driver's license and access to a car

You do not need to know anything about insects. What matters is that you are

willing to walk up to someone, start a conversation, and write down what they

said accurately.

LOGISTICS

Hours: 16–20 per week, flexible around your class schedule

Pay: $20.00–23.00 per hour, depending on relevant experience

Location: Mostly remote; occasional in-person meetings in the Wellesley /

  Boston area

Duration: Start date flexible; the role ends December 31, 2026

Travel: Manchester, NH, December 15–17 (required). Grand Rapids, MI,

  December 8–10 (strongly preferred). Expenses covered for both.
