Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a TypeScript Coding Specialist - Freelance AI Trainer Project based in Netherlands.

Join a cutting-edge AI training project where your TypeScript expertise will directly contribute to improving the capabilities of advanced language models.
You'll help evaluate and strengthen AI performance across software engineering, coding, and complex technical problem-solving scenarios.
The role covers algorithms, data structures, software architecture, frontend and backend development, cloud infrastructure, and systems programming.
You'll challenge models with realistic TypeScript tasks and assess their reasoning, coding accuracy, quality, and security.
Your insights will help identify failure modes, improve evaluation methods, and make AI-generated technical outputs more reliable.
This is a flexible freelance opportunity suited to experienced developers, technical writers, and open-source contributors who enjoy analyzing and explaining complex concepts.
By contributing your expertise, you'll help shape AI systems designed to support engineers, developers, and learners worldwide.

Accountabilities:
  • Engage with advanced AI models on software engineering tasks and technical scenarios using TypeScript.
  • Evaluate model responses for logical accuracy, coding fluency, correctness, clarity, and overall software quality.
  • Challenge AI systems across algorithms, data structures, software architecture, frontend and backend development, cloud infrastructure, and systems programming.
  • Test areas such as asynchronous programming, RESTful API integration, memory management, object-oriented design, secure coding practices, and distributed systems debugging.
  • Identify and document reproducible failure modes, logical inconsistencies, coding errors, and areas where model reasoning can be improved.
  • Provide structured feedback and recommendations to strengthen prompt engineering approaches and evaluation metrics.
  • Clearly explain technical reasoning and demonstrate how conclusions are reached when assessing AI-generated solutions.

Requirements:

  • Strong practical expertise in TypeScript and software engineering.
  • Solid knowledge of algorithms, data structures, software architecture, and modern development practices.
  • Experience with frontend and/or backend development, APIs, cloud infrastructure, or systems programming is highly relevant.
  • Familiarity with asynchronous programming, RESTful APIs, object-oriented design, memory management, secure coding, debugging, and distributed systems.
  • A bachelor's, master's, or PhD in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related technical discipline is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Real-world TypeScript development experience, technical writing, or open-source contributions is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to identify subtle technical inaccuracies and evaluate AI-generated code objectively.
  • Excellent metacognitive communication skills, including the ability to clearly explain your reasoning and "show your work."

Benefits:

  • Freelance contract opportunity with flexible remote work.
  • Pay ranging from $6 to $65 per hour, with the exact rate determined by experience, expertise, and geographic location.
  • Opportunity to contribute directly to the development and evaluation of advanced AI systems.
  • Exposure to challenging software engineering problems across a broad range of technical domains.
  • Flexible work suited to experienced developers and technical specialists.
  • Contractors provide their own secure computer and high-speed internet connection.
  • Company-sponsored benefits such as health insurance and paid time off are not included.
