Job description

Responsibilities

Los Cuernos Ranch is looking to hire a Ranch Wildlife Operations Technician. Who will be responsible for supporting ranch operations with a focus on land stewardship, including wildlife management, habitat improvement, equipment operation, and daily care of ranch animals.

Essential Job Functions

  • Guide hunts for native and exotic game with a focus on safety and professionalism.
  • Support wildlife management efforts, including population monitoring, supplemental feeding, and habitat improvement.
  • Maintain blinds, feeders, water sources, fencing, and other ranch infrastructure.
  • Operate and maintain equipment such as tractors, backhoes, and UTVs, including routine checks and minor repairs.
  • Prepare and manage food plots, including soil preparation, planting, fertilization, and upkeep.
  • Provide daily care for livestock and exotic species, including feeding, watering, and health monitoring.
  • Assist with animal handling, veterinary care, tagging, and upkeep of pens and shelters.
  • Perform general ranch duties, including maintenance, repairs, and land improvement projects.

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Wildlife Management, Natural Resource Management, Animal Science, or related field preferred.
  • Experience guiding hunts and working with native/exotic game preferred.
  • Proficiency operating tractors, backhoes, and other ranch equipment.
  • Consideration is given to relevant experience and related certification
  • A valid driver’s license may be required, along with a driving record that meets the requirements of the company’s insurance provider.
