Job description

Purpose of the Job:
The Video Director leads the strategy, storytelling, production, and execution of video content across Victory Church. This role is responsible for creating compelling, high-quality content that supports the vision of the church, engages people emotionally, and drives ministry impact across all campuses and digital platforms. This is not an editing-only role. This role owns creative outcomes.
Experience and Knowledge Required:
5+ years of experience in video production, filmmaking, content creation, or related field
Strong portfolio demonstrating storytelling, editing, and cinematography ability
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro
Experience with After Effects, motion graphics, color grading, and audio mixing preferred
Strong understanding of camera systems, lighting, audio, and production workflows
Experience managing projects from concept through final delivery
Strong organizational and communication skills
Experience leading teams, volunteers, or freelance creatives preferred
Bachelor's degree in film, media production, communications, or related field (preferred, not required)
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Lead the vision and direction for all video content across Victory Church
Develop cinematic, emotionally engaging, and culturally relevant storytelling
Collaborate with pastors, communicators, and ministry leaders to bring vision to life
Help shape the overall visual and storytelling language of Victory Church
Drive a high standard of quality, creativity, pacing, and execution
Produce testimonies, vision films, documentaries, interviews, promos, and social-first content
Create video content that communicates life change and ministry impact
Lead concept development, scripting support, shooting, editing, sound design, and final delivery
Capture meaningful stories and moments across all campuses
Ensure content is optimized for multiple platforms and formats
Oversee production of sermon bumpers, Video Announcements, Announcement Loop content, event promos, and ministry-specific videos
Support major church initiatives including Easter, Christmas, conferences, baptisms, students, kids, and vision campaigns
Ensure weekend video content supports the overall worship and communication experience
Build and maintain scalable systems for video production and asset organization
Manage project timelines, approvals, and communication workflows
Utilize tools such as Asana and Frame.io to maintain efficient collaboration and delivery
Ensure projects are organized, communicated clearly, and completed on time
Help eliminate reactive and last-minute production workflows
Recruit, train, and lead volunteer video teams across campuses
Help build systems for ongoing content capture through volunteers and freelancers
Provide creative feedback and coaching to improve quality and consistency
Collaborate closely with photography, communications, and creative teams
Ensure video content is effective, scalable, and aligned across all locations
Support campuses with storytelling resources, capture systems, and communication tools
Help maintain consistency in quality, tone, and execution church-wide
Schedule & Event Expectations
This role is ministry-facing and event-driven in nature. Sundays are considered a regular workday and are a core part of this position's responsibilities.
The Video Director is expected to actively capture content during weekend services and church gatherings across campuses as needed.
In addition to Sundays, this role is expected to participate in and support major church events throughout the year.
Flexibility in schedule is required to effectively support the ministry and communication needs of Victory Church.
