Resident Engineer
Seattle, WA

6+ Months contract

Interview Process: 3 rounds

Reason for need: One of their strategic customers has a large deployment that they will need a RE onsite to support.
Team: This role will be a part of our client's Global Services teams supporting clients with their consulting and NaaS offering, working within their customer's environment to manage large deployments and consulting the client along the way.

Job Description

Must have Skills:

  • 5+ years of strong Aruba Wireless design and deployment experience within a client's environment
  • must have deployed Aruba wireless products within a customer's site before
  • Strong knowledge of wireless configurations, design, and site surveys
  • This person will need to have experience owning a deployment to completion, making sure they own to delivery
  • They will be using Ekahau for site surveys
  • networking - LAN, WAN, WLAN
  • Knowledge and experience with HPE Aruba product portfolio: Switching, Routing, AOS6.5 & 8.x, Wireless AP and IAP, Controllers, SD-WAN, User Experience Insight, HPE Aruba AirWave, Aruba ClearPass and ClearPass extensions, Aruba Central, Aruba Meridian
  • Must have customer-facing, consulting experience 
  • ***Aruba switching and clear pass are nice to haves!!***



The resource will be working on the following:

  • Proactive Software Recommendations
  • Bug Scrubs
  • Change window support
  • Informal Knowledge Transfer



REQUIRED TASKS & SCOPE

  • Aruba Engineering Support 
  • Conduct service planning meetings with the Customer’s wireless engineers to assist in the development of prerequisites and requirements
  • Schedule High Level Design (HLD) collaboration meetings, review roles and responsibilities.
  • Work collaboratively to help develop a prerequisite readiness checklist.
  • Assist Customer PM with the development of a project plan to include key milestones for task due dates. Architecture and Design:
  • Review of the current wireless environment and assessment of what is needed before migration
  • Review and provide an assessment of the Mobility Conductor hardware or VM.
  • Review and refine the proposed sequence of deployment activities
  • Assist Customer with refining the project plan and cutover dates/times based on Customer requirements
  • Assist with defining remote access to in-scope Aruba devices for Command Line Interface (CLI), Secure Shell (SSH) and Graphical User Interface (GUI connectivity.
