Position Details:
Location: Mercy Hospital Oklahoma City
Shift: Part Time, PRN (as needed)
Overview:
Perform ultrasound procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Perform a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative to supply prescribed sonography examinations for radiographic diagnoses. Assume responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required. Performs related duties as assigned. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
Qualifications:
Associate Sonographer
  • Education: Graduate of a school of Sonography and completed required clinical hours OR registered sonographer
  • Experience: no experience required
  • Certification: Obtained ARDMS or ARRT or CCI registry OR Registry eligible (Achieve registry within 6 months of eligibility); Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire In the state of Arkansas, American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography-Registered Vascular Technologist (ARDMS-RVT), OR Cardiovascular Credentialing International- Registered Vascular Specialist (CCI-RVS) OR American Registry of Radiologic Technologists-Vascular Sonography (ARRT-VS) is required within 12 months of hire and/or transfer
  • Licensure: State licensure may be required depending on the specific state of practice

Sonographer
  • Education: Graduate of a school of Sonography and completed required clinical hours
  • Experience: 1+ years of relevant experience
  • Certification: ARDMS/ARRT/CCI and 2 applicable advanced registries/certifications within the applicable work area; Basic Life Support (BLS) In the state of Arkansas, American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography-Registered Vascular Technologist (ARDMS-RVT), OR Cardiovascular Credentialing International- Registered Vascular Specialist (CCI-RVS) OR American Registry of Radiologic Technologists-Vascular Sonography (ARRT-VS) is required
  • Licensure: State licensure may be required depending on the specific state of practice.
  • Current Associate Sonographers who are moving to the Sonographer title on the career ladder must complete all required Associate Sonographer competencies.

Advanced Sonographer
  • Education: Graduate of a school of Sonography and completed required clinical hours
  • Experience: 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Certification: ARDMS/ARRT/CCI and 3 applicable advanced registries/certifications within the applicable work area OR 2 applicable advanced registries/certifications within the applicable work area and 5 years of applicable experience; Basic Life Support (BLS) In the state of Arkansas, American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography-Registered Vascular Technologist (ARDMS-RVT), OR Cardiovascular Credentialing International- Registered Vascular Specialist (CCI-RVS) OR American Registry of Radiologic Technologists-Vascular Sonography (ARRT-VS) is required
  • Licensure: State licensure may be required depending on the specific state of practice.
  • Current Sonographers who are moving to Advanced Sonographer title on the career ladder must complete all required Associate AND Sonographer competencies.

Senior Sonographer
  • Education: Graduate of a school of Sonography and completed required clinical hours
  • Experience: 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Certification: ARDMS/ARRT/CCI and 4 applicable advanced registries/certifications within the applicable work area OR 2 applicable advanced registries/certifications within the applicable work area and 7 years of applicable experience; Basic Life Support (BLS) In the state of Arkansas, American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography-Registered Vascular Technologist (ARDMS-RVT), OR Cardiovascular Credentialing International- Registered Vascular Specialist (CCI-RVS) OR American Registry of Radiologic Technologists-Vascular Sonography (ARRT-VS) is required
  • Licensure: State licensure may be required depending on the specific state of practice.
  • Current Advanced Sonographers who are moving to Senior Sonographer title on the career ladder must complete all required Sonographer AND Advanced Sonographer competencies.

This is a career-ladder position. The level at which the successful candidate is hired will be determined based on education, certification/licensure, and relevant imaging experience.
