Job description
Onward Education is supporting Weld County, CO in hiring a full-time, in-person Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support students at the high school level. This is a school-based contract role for the 2026-2027 school year.
In this position, you'll evaluate and treat students with speech/language needs, collaborate closely with special education and general education teams, and ensure services and documentation align with IEP requirements. The SLP will be on-site and part of a multidisciplinary team focused on student access, communication growth, and academic participation.
Position Details:
- Job Title: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
- Setting: High school
- Location: On-site
- Schedule: 32 hours/week (full-time)
Responsibilities:
- Complete speech/language assessments and participate in eligibility determination as needed.
- Develop, implement, and update IEP goals and service plans related to communication needs.
- Provide direct therapy services (individual and/or small group) aligned to student goals.
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and school teams to support carryover and classroom strategies.
- Support students using AAC and other communication supports when appropriate.
- Maintain timely documentation, progress monitoring, and compliance with IDEA and district expectations.
Qualifications:
- Active Colorado SLP license with Speech/SLP endorsement (per district requirement).
- Experience in (or strong interest in) supporting students in a secondary/high school environment preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across teams (SPED, gen ed, related services, families).
