Job description

Role Summary
Free People is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Product Development & Production Coordinator to support our product development and production team across the full product lifecycle - from costing and sample development through freight, customs, and final delivery. This role is ideal for someone highly organized who thrives on managing multiple timelines, communicating with vendors, and keeping cross-functional teams aligned to critical deadlines.
Role Responsibilities
  • Own the LDP spreadsheet - chase costings from vendors, keep your manager in the loop on every open cost, and cross-check with the PD team to build costing expertise.
  • Manage freight offer collection, system entry and rates input to buy sheets.
  • Drive freight offer collection from quote to system entry, regularly adding rates into buy sheets.
  • Collecting, logging, and organizing mail promptly for sample distribution and component approvals.
  • Help create color spec files for SMS orders.
  • Manage customs import data with vendors, ensuring all is provided correctly and accounted for and communicated to the Compliance team. Adjust the buy sheets for the relevant months with latest tariff/duty rates.
  • Ensure that weekly T&As and Sample Trackers are received, reviewed, and analyzed to ensure the most accurate information is being reported, keeping production deadlines on time and prepped for weekly meetings. Escalate issues that impact delivery, coordinate and analyze solutions with both internal and external partners. Track and manage catalog, SMS, TOP and photo samples. Work closely with wholesale and sample management teams to ensure SMS are delivered on time, accounted for and distributed for show deadlines.
  • Keep sample database up to date for cataloguing development samples.
  • Work with internal teams to ensure products are handed to the studio, merchandising teams and wholesale teams to meet deadlines.

Role Qualifications
  • 0 - 2 years of relevant experience in Fashion, Retail, Product Development or a related field.
  • Proficient in data analysis, data input in PLM, excel, Qlik etc.
  • Ability to work within and across cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with both internal and external customers.
  • Possesses a proactive approach to problem-solving, as well as an understanding of, and ability to, implement operational efficiencies.
  • Ability to analyze production process, advise on strategies and achieve sample deadlines.
  • Organized, detail oriented, and flexible in order to assist on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Works with a high sense of urgency and integrity, easily and quickly adapts to change, and is motivated by deadlines and new challenges.
  • Education: Degree in Fashion, Business, or a related field
