Job description

Retail Liquor Clerk Retail Liquor Clerk – Full or Part Time ($20/hr + Benefits)

Compensation: $20.00 per hour base (We pay more for the value, efficiency, and quality of service you bring. We evaluate talent on an individual basis, and most hires receive merit-based raises within their first few weeks). Employment Type: Full-Time or Part-Time (Flexible / Employee's Choice) Location: Gunbarrel / Boulder (6566 Lookout Road – near Lookout & Spine)

About Us

We are an established, independent, family-owned wine, craft beer, and liquor store located just outside of Boulder. We pride ourselves on offering a friendly, relaxed, and drama-free atmosphere for both our staff and our community.

We experience incredibly low turnover because we believe in great leadership, mutual respect, and strong teamwork. Our tight-knit team is hardworking, funny, and excellent at what they do. We are seeking an honest, reliable, and proactive individual to join us. Because customer service is our top priority, you must be personable and genuinely enjoy helping people.

Position Details & Schedule

Shifts: 3 to 5 shifts per week.

Hours: Flexibility is required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays (Store hours are 9:00 AM – 11:00 PM).

Flexibility: Exact schedule and full-time/part-time status are negotiable for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

Delivering exceptional, welcoming customer service.

Running a computerized cash register accurately and efficiently.

Stocking store shelves and walk-in coolers.

Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized retail floor.

Position Requirements

Must be 21 years of age or older.

Ability to stand on your feet for long shifts and lift up to 50 pounds regularly.

Comfortable operating electronic point-of-sale systems.

Experience: Previous retail, customer service, or industry knowledge is a plus, but not required. We care much more about your integrity, attitude, and character than your resume.

Why Work With Us? (Compensation & Benefits)

Competitive Base + Growth: Starting at $20/hr, with rapid evaluation for raises once you prove your value.

Health Insurance: Kaiser Permanente co-coverage available for full-time employees (30+ hours/week).

Quarterly Bonuses: Performance-based staff bonuses distributed quarterly.

Upward Mobility: Opportunity to advance into inventory buyer responsibilities and increased pay based on aptitude.

Perks: Generous employee discount, plus free samples of new product arrivals when available to try at home.

Great Environment: Bi-weekly pay, an incredibly nice customer base, and ownership that treats staff with courtesy and respect.

Perfect Location: Located just one mile outside the Boulder city limits next to King Soopers in the Gunbarrel shopping center. You get all the benefits of the Boulder market, but with easy parking and a fantastic, community-driven clientele.

To Apply

If you have a great attitude and want to work with a respectful, long-term team, please reply with your resume or stop by the store to introduce yourself.

Key Improvements Made:

Removed Redundancy: The original text repeated the pay structure, raise policy, and full/part-time details three separate times. Consolidating them into dedicated sections keeps the reader engaged without scanning past repetitive text.

Smoothed the Location Advantage: Framed the location detail to highlight the ease of the neighborhood and the great local customer base, turning it into a distinct selling point.

Cleaned up the Local Reference: Left the immediate neighboring businesses intact to give clear context for where the shop sits, while removing the long list of distant breweries to keep the focus tight on the job location itself.

Would you like to adjust any of the specific phrasing or layout before you post it?
