Job description


The Nuclear Quality Assurance Specialist supports the implementation and administration of nuclear quality assurance programs with a strong emphasis on training coordination, document control, and records management. This role ensures compliance with NQA-1 and ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC) requirements while maintaining accurate quality and training records in a highly regulated environment.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and maintain QA program documentation in accordance with NQA-1 and ASME BPVC requirements
  • Coordinate, track, and maintain training and qualification records for personnel
  • Support development and delivery of onboarding and recurring nuclear training programs
  • Maintain document control processes including revision control, distribution, and archival of QA documents
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance of quality records, inspection reports, and data packages
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and maintaining records readiness
  • Review procedures, work instructions, and training materials for compliance with regulatory standards
  • Maintain and implement Learning Management Systems (LMS) and training tracking
  • Interface with project teams to ensure training and qualification requirements are met prior to work execution
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to QA processes and training programs

Training & Administrative Focus
  • Manage training matrices and qualification tracking systems
  • Ensure personnel certifications and qualifications are current and compliant
  • Maintain training records in accordance with regulatory and QA requirements
  • Assist in development of course content, training modules, and qualification programs
  • Support onboarding programs for new hires in nuclear-regulated environments
  • Coordinate scheduling and logistics for training sessions (virtual and in-person)

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in technical, business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in quality assurance, training coordination, or document control
  • Working knowledge of NQA-1 quality assurance program requirements
  • Familiarity with ASME BPVC standards
  • Experience with document control systems and records management
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in regulated environments (DOE, NRC, or similar)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (Oracle etc.)
  • Prior experience supporting nuclear, DOE, NRC or EPC projects
  • Familiarity with NQA-1, 10 CFR 50 Appendix B or similar regulatory frameworks
  • Background in records administration or QA program support
  • Certification or coursework related to quality assurance or document control

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, administrative excellence, and the ability to support both training and QA program execution in a nuclear-regulated environment.
