Job Summary
The Line Packer is responsible for inspecting, counting, weighing, packaging, and sealing finished products according to company quality standards and production specifications. This position works closely with the Production Line Supervisor to ensure products are accurately packaged, production runs efficiently, and food safety and quality standards are maintained at all times.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Receive finished product from the end of the production line.
Inspect products to ensure they meet established quality, size, and weight specifications.
Count and weigh products to verify compliance with packaging requirements.
Package and seal finished products according to production specifications and supervisor instructions.
Immediately notify the Line Supervisor or Plant Supervisor of any product defects, equipment issues, or abnormalities that may affect product quality or production.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary packing area throughout the shift.
Assist in monitoring inventory of bags and packaging materials and communicate replenishment needs to the Line Supervisor.
Follow all company food safety, sanitation, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and safety policies.
Work efficiently to meet production goals while maintaining product quality.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
Ability to communicate clearly and follow verbal and written instructions.
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Basic math skills, including counting and weighing products accurately.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Ability to follow company safety and food safety procedures.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Physical Requirements
Frequently bend, twist, reach, and lift throughout the workday.
Lift and carry 30–40 pounds without assistance.
Stand or sit for extended periods, rotating positions as needed.
Perform repetitive hand and arm movements while maintaining production speed.
Work in a warm manufacturing environment with exposure to flour dust and production noise.
Occasionally work overtime or extended shifts based on production needs.
Work Environment
This position is performed in a food manufacturing facility. Employees regularly work around moving production equipment and are exposed to warm temperatures, flour dust, and elevated noise levels. Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.
