The Manager, Franchise Performance position is an important and impactful field-based role responsible for supporting a portfolio of franchise Subway restaurants within an assigned territory. This role partners directly with franchisees to seek opportunities to improve overall restaurant performance, increase sales, support profitability, strengthen operations, and ensure consistent execution of brand standards. The ideal candidate enjoys working in the field, building relationships, using data to solve business challenges, and coaching operators to improve results. This role requires frequent travel, strong business acumen, and the ability to influence others without direct authority.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage an assigned territory of franchise restaurants and serve as a trusted business partner to franchisees.

  • Review sales, financial, operational, and performance data to identify improvement opportunities.

  • Partner with franchisees to create action plans that improve sales, profitability, guest experience, operations, and brand execution.

  • Conduct regular restaurant visits to assess operations, food safety, standards, and overall performance.

  • Coach franchisees on company programs, best practices, technology tools, marketing initiatives, and operational improvements.

  • Support new restaurant openings, remodels, ownership transitions, and other market development activities.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to support franchisee success and market performance.

Qualifications:


  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 80-90% within the assigned territory, including occasional evenings or weekends based on business needs. The role is expected to be in the field 4 days a week, with one administrative-focused day working from home.

  • High school diploma and undergraduate degree in Business, Hospitality, Restaurant Management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in multi-unit quick-service restaurant, fast casual, foodservice, hospitality, retail, franchise, field operations, business consulting, or a related operational leadership role; quick-service restaurant, fast casual, or foodservice experience strongly preferred.

  • Strong business acumen, including experience with profit-and-loss performance, sales trends, cost drivers, margin improvement, and influencing positive financial outcomes.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and influence operators, managers, franchisees, business owners, or field teams to improve performance, strengthen accountability, and drive behavior change.

  • Ability to assess business performance with nuance, identify root causes, and translate data and field observations into practical action plans.

  • Strong communication, relationship-building, problem-solving, and influencing skills.

  • Ability to work independently in a field-based role and manage multiple priorities across a territory.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, and comfort learning reporting or franchise management systems.

  • Valid drivers license, clean driving history, and access to a reliable, properly insured personal vehicle.
