Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Drywall Estimator to lead detailed, high-impact estimating efforts for drywall, metal framing, and interior systems projects across the East Coast.

This role is critical to supporting Optiline's regional and multi-market growth strategy. You will be responsible for pricing work in both established and expanding markets, ensuring estimates reflect local conditions, labor dynamics, and project-specific risks.

This is a technical, production-focused role-ideal for someone who understands drywall construction at a deep level and can translate real-world field conditions into accurate, scalable estimates across multiple regions.


Key ResponsibilitiesEstimating & Preconstruction (Multi-Market)
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and prepare estimates for projects across the East Coast
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and bid documents across varying jurisdictions and market conditions
  • Develop accurate, competitive bids aligned with regional labor, logistics, and material considerations
  • Adjust pricing strategies based on market-specific risks, union pressure, and project complexity
Drywall-Specific Expertise
  • Interpret UL assemblies, rated systems, shaft walls, and finish levels across diverse project types
  • Apply strong knowledge of drywall production, sequencing, and installation methods
  • Identify constructability challenges and proactively incorporate solutions into estimates
Cost Control & Risk Management
  • Evaluate risks related to geography, labor availability, schedule, and site conditions
  • Ensure estimates reflect true execution cost across different markets-not generalized assumptions
  • Support value engineering while maintaining margin discipline
Vendor & Internal Collaboration
  • Build and manage relationships with regional vendors and suppliers
  • Collaborate with Preconstruction, Project Management, and Field Leadership across multiple markets
  • Participate in bid reviews, pursuit strategy, and project handoffs

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial drywall and framing estimating
  • Experience bidding projects across multiple regions or markets preferred
  • Strong understanding of drywall systems, assemblies, and field execution
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings
  • Proficiency in estimating software (On-Screen Takeoff, Quick Bid, or similar)
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple bids across different markets simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Authorized to work in the United States
