As a frac mechanic, your job is to repair and perform maintenance on equipment used in hydraulic fracturing. In this role, you may assemble components on each job site, transport equipment between sites as needed, and work in any shift to ensure your equipment keeps functioning. Most frac mechanics work with one piece of equipment for the duration of each job. However, employers may occasionally ask you to travel to other equipment sites to help resolve particularly complex problems. Many frac mechanics also help ensure worker safety and examine related equipment before, during, and after it interacts with a hydraulic fracturing system.
