Job description

FPGA Design Engineer โ€“ Verification (Hybrid โ€“ Owego, NY)

We are looking for an FPGA Design and Verification Engineer for a global aerospace company. In this role, you will lead FPGA/ASIC verification for safety-critical avionics hardware, ensuring DO-254 Level A compliance through rigorous requirements analysis, simulation, testing, and certification support.

This is a 7-month contract (extensions likely), 40-hour-per-week role (4-day 10-hour shifts per week), Hybrid role in Owego, NY.

This is a W-2 role as a Stage 4 Solutions employee. Health benefits and 401K are offered.

Responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for ASIC & FPGA development on R&D program.
  • Develop more affordable ways to automate and develop scripts to improve FPGA development efforts. Cross discipline collaboration with Systems Architects, RF/Analog & Digital Circuit designers and ASIC/FPGA engineers to create leading edge products for future business growth, contributing to complex systems employing high speed networking concepts.
  • You will also provide support and technical direction to junior engineers.
  • Overall contribution to design, simulation, verification, integration & test of complex, high speed products.
  • You will support verification activities required for DOโ€‘254 compliance, including requirement analysis, test development, execution, simulation, coverage analysis, and backโ€‘annotation of results. The role will work closely with design, systems, and certification teams to ensure the FPGA design meets stringent DO-254 Level A standards.

Requirements:

  • Must be a US Citizen and should have ablity to obtain a Security Clearance
  • 9+ years of experience as an FPGA Verification Engineer to support the development and certification of safetyโ€‘critical avionics hardware.
  • Experience with FPGA design tools (Xilinx Vivado, Intel Quartus, Synopsys Synplify).
  • Proficient in SystemVerilog
  • Proficiency with HDL simulators, waveform viewers, and coverage tools.
  • Familiarity with hardwareโ€‘inโ€‘theโ€‘loop (HIL) test setups and test equipment (e.g., JTAG, logic analyzers).
  • Prior involvement in FAA or EASA certification audits.
  • Experience with version control systems and configuration management.
  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree
  • Desired Skills: Proficient in UVM. Proficient in C.
