Job description

The AVP, of Good Health Foundation, is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all fundraising activities for the Good Health Foundation. Reporting directly to the CEO of the Health Care District of Palm Beach County, this position works closely with Health Care District leadership and community stakeholders to secure philanthropic support and advance the mission of the foundation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create Foundation policies to support an active management strategy and enhanced brand development.
  • Oversee development of meaningful collateral to educate the community on the Foundation purpose through story development of District impact.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies including annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, and special events.
  • Cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with donors, sponsors, and partners to ensure sustained financial support.
  • Oversee donor database management, gift processing, and acknowledgment to maintain accurate records and foster donor engagement.
  • Support grant writing initiatives and manage grant reporting to secure institutional funding.
  • Collaborate with Health Care District leadership to align development goals with organizational objectives.
  • Provide regular progress reports to the Health Care District CEO and Board on fundraising efforts and outcomes.
  • Foster a positive and results-driven team environment.

The Health Care District of Palm Beach County is an independent special taxing district that has served as a healthcare safety net for more than 36 years to fill in gaps in access to healthcare services. This unique healthcare system covers the entire county and provides a wide range of services such as nine community health centers (Federally Qualified Health Centers) which serve everyone regardless of ability to pay; school health teams in 172 public schools; a lifesaving Trauma Hawk aeromedical helicopter program; a rural, public teaching hospital, Lakeside Medical Center; an award-winning skilled nursing center; a ground ambulance program for Health Care District patients needing a higher level of care and the county's Trauma Agency, which ensures quality outcomes within the county's trauma system and leads initiatives to prevent traumatic injury.

  • Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, marketing, communications, business, or a related field;
  • Minimum of 7-10 years' experience in fundraising or development, preferably within a health care or nonprofit setting.
  • Certified Fundraising Executive certification desired (CFRE)
  • Proven track record of meeting fundraising goals and building donor relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency with fundraising software and donor management systems.
