They work closely with clients to understand their unique requirements, configure solutions, and ensure successful deployments, frequently traveling to client sites. Internally, they collaborate with engineers, product managers, and support staff to relay client feedback, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system performance. This role requires excellent communication skills and adaptability, as each project may involve different stakeholders and technical challenges.

What is the difference between Forward Deployment Engineer vs Network Engineer?

  • Check for visible signs of leakage, improper connections, abnormal conditions, or safety concerns and communicate findings before equipment is placed into service.

  • Connect limited, directed control cables as instructed, ensuring cabling is secure, organized, and aligned with deployment guidance. Site facilities teams are expected to connect power to the cabinet/cube where applicable.

  • Assist with initial power-up coordination, observe for obvious hardware or environmental issues, and confirm the rack is ready for engineering monitoring and next-step direction.

  • Coordinate closely with engineers, site leads, and onsite operations teams during bring-up; provide real-time status updates and support additional guided physical or configuration checks as directed.

  • Install and remove SD cards on the cabinet, including work in tight or restricted locations when required.

  • Follow all documented safety, compliance, access, cleanliness, lockout/startup, and equipment handling requirements for the site.
