SummaryThe Media Process Technician I / Formulation Technician I supports the manufacturing of dehydrated and liquid cell culture media in a GMP-regulated environment. This role is responsible for weighing and compounding raw materials, operating manufacturing equipment, performing process monitoring and standard product testing, and maintaining accurate documentation. The position works closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Quality, Procurement, Process Technology, and Manufacturing, to ensure safe and efficient production activities.
Responsibilities- Stage and compound raw materials within specified weight tolerances ranging from micrograms to kilograms.
- Perform milling, blending, aseptic liquid filling, and process control monitoring activities for cell culture media manufacturing.
- Execute manufacturing activities in accordance with production schedules, GMP requirements, and departmental procedures.
- Complete production records and documentation accurately and in compliance with GMP standards.
- Perform cleaning, inspection, calibration, and assist with maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
- Troubleshoot equipment and support continuous operation of production processes.
- Handle raw materials in accordance with GMP and safety requirements.
- Operate laboratory and manufacturing equipment including pipettors, balances, osmometers, turbidimeters, and pH meters.
- Conduct standard product testing such as osmolality, pH, and turbidity measurements.
- Promote a safe, injury-free, and incident-free work environment.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and support a positive team culture.
- Support business needs through overtime and additional assignments as required.
Required Skills- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field required.
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in a fast-paced chemistry laboratory or manufacturing environment.
- Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered.
- Ability to read, write, and follow testing and inspection procedures.
- Ability to maintain neat, accurate, and complete records and logs.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to disassemble and reassemble equipment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Flexibility to support varying schedules and overtime requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain focus during repetitive tasks.
- Basic experience weighing multiple components accurately.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with statistical analysis tools such as Excel or Minitab preferred.
- Ability to lift or move up to 40 lbs.
