Formula Administrator

Location : Princeton, NJ, US

The Formula Administrator manages the full lifecycle of fragrance formulas, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and data integrity across creation systems. This role operates within a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment and requires strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders across diverse teams, roles, and working styles.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Functional Execution & Quality Management: Execute and maintain fragrance formulas throughout their lifecycle, ensuring accuracy and consistency across safety, regulatory, cost, availability, and technical requirements in all creation systems.

  • Risk, Safety & Compliance Management: Apply established safety, regulatory, and palette standards through formula reviews, ingredient authorizations, and compliance checks to mitigate technical and business risk.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration & Service Delivery: Partner with creators, technical experts, commercial teams, and regional stakeholders to support formula transfers, submissions, disclosures, costing, and production readiness while balancing multiple priorities.

  • Support documentation, formula disclosures, and client deliverables

  • Provide technical input related to solvents, solubilizers, naturals, stability, and application requirements

  • Assist with raw material introductions, internal screening programs, and archived formula reactivation

You bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Cosmetic Science, Biology, or a related scientific discipline required

  • Coursework or certification in cosmetic regulations, IFRA standards, or product safety preferred

  • Experience with SAP, formulation management systems, or LIMS highly desirable

  • Background in fragrance technology, raw materials, or cosmetic formulation considered an asset

The salary scale provided reflects the pay range dsm-firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant's job-related skills, experience, relevant education, or training, and primary work location. Salary $57,400 - $75,000.

In addition to base salary, we also offer a comprehensive total rewards package, inclusive of annual incentive pay, a retirement savings plan, health care coverage, paid time off, recognition programs and a broad range of other benefits. All benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements.
