What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Formula D driver, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Formula D driver, you need advanced driving skills, deep knowledge of vehicle dynamics, and a valid competition license. Familiarity with data logging systems, vehicle telemetry, and specialized racing simulators is also important. Quick decision-making, adaptability, and strong communication make drivers stand out, especially when working with pit crews and sponsors. These abilities ensure competitive performance, safety, and effective teamwork in the high-pressure environment of professional drifting.

What are Formula D drivers?

Formula D drivers are professional competitors who participate in Formula Drift, a premier motorsport series focused on the art and skill of drifting. Drifting is a driving technique where the driver intentionally oversteers, causing loss of traction in the rear wheels while maintaining control around a course. Formula D drivers must possess advanced car control, quick reflexes, and the ability to perform complex maneuvers at high speeds. They are judged on factors such as speed, angle, and style during head-to-head competitions. These drivers often have backgrounds in motorsports and dedicate significant time to training and vehicle setup.

How to get into Formula D?

To get into Formula D, aspiring drivers typically need extensive drifting experience, a strong driving record, and participation in local or regional drifting events to build skills and reputation. Obtaining a racing license and demonstrating consistent performance can help qualify for professional events in the series.

What is a Formula D job?

These roles typically require advanced skills, extensive experience, and sometimes certifications or licenses, and may involve long or irregular hours.

What are some common challenges Formula D engineers face when optimizing vehicle performance during a racing season?

Formula D engineers often face the challenge of quickly adapting car setups to different track conditions and driver preferences, especially given the fast-paced and dynamic nature of drift racing. Balancing power delivery, suspension tuning, and tire selection requires both technical expertise and close collaboration with drivers and mechanics. Effective communication and teamwork are essential, as engineers must coordinate with crew members and drivers to implement real-time adjustments during practice and competition.

Job description

About Bobbie

Bobbie makes European-style organic infant formula manufactured end-to-end in the U.S., because we believe every parent deserves to feed their baby with confidence, without judgment and without compromise. No mystery ingredients. No shortcuts. Just clean, thoughtfully made formula that parents can trust.

But Bobbie has never been just a formula company. When the 2022 national infant formula shortage left parents across the country unable to feed their babies, we closed our storefront to new customers rather than leave a single existing family without formula. We went to Washington. We got loud. And we opened our Heath, Ohio manufacturing facility to make sure something like that could never happen again.

That's who we are, and that's what you'd be joining.

Bobbie for Change

Our advocacy arm, Bobbie for Change, exists because making great formula isn't enough if the systems around parenthood are still broken. We fight for paid federal parental leave, push for legislation to prevent future formula shortages, advocate for feeding equity, and support families navigating impossible situations, including donating formula to parents impacted by breast and gynecologic cancers through the Bobbie Breasties program.

We're a company that genuinely believes becoming a parent makes you an activist. The people who work here feel that too.

The Role

This Contractor position will report to Bobbie's Medical Sales Manager and work within the Medical channel of the company. You will be engaging with healthcare professionals while clinically promoting Bobbie.

You should have the ability to communicate professionally the clinical qualities of both of our brands. You will work with the team to uncover new medical leads and opportunities. The ideal candidate is comfortable making introductory sales calls, having clinical conversations with health care professionals, and building relationships with medical practices.

What you will accomplish:

  • In-person field sales and in-servicing in targeted geographic areas
  • Support regional sales events as needed
  • Support digital outreach and inbounds as needed
  • Lead list generation
  • Hubspot CRM data entry and management for individual accounts

What we would like you to have:

  • Availability to commit to 5-10 hours of work weekly, 90% in the field
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal guidance
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies (Slack, Hubspot, data entry)
  • Vehicle and unrestricted driver's license
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to pivot with changing strategies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Organized, problem-solving, results, and relationships oriented approach
  • Budget and Time Management skills
  • Clinical Setting Experience
  • Clinical degree (RD, RN, LPN, OT, SLP) is preferred but not required
  • Experience in a sales role for a fast-growing CPG company preferred
  • Experience with customer management software

You're inspired by our core values:

  • Be Radical - We are change makers, rule breakers and stigma shakers. We are unapologetically bold and use our megaphone for good.
  • Nurture the Tension - Parenthood is full of healthy tension, and so is building a company. We embrace the unknowns, practice humility and are a culture of learners.
  • Deliver Ounce by Ounce - Our customers have entrusted us to feed their babies. We lose sleep over the details, so they don't have to.
  • Don't Assume - We embrace our unique perspectives, withhold judgment, and find beauty in the paths that brought us all to Bobbie. Our strength is celebrating each other and our collective voice.

Compensation:

$35-$45 per hour, depending on experience, credentials, and geographic location.

Contract Length Agreement:

3 months with opportunity to extend

At Bobbie, we are committed to building a diverse and inclusive company. We seek to create a culture where everyone can belong because we believe that people do their best work when they can show up every day as their authentic selves. We welcome people of different backgrounds, experiences, abilities, and perspectives.

Bobbie is an equal opportunity employer. We do not make hiring or employment decisions on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, disability status or genetic information, in compliance with applicable federal, state and local law.
