What is the difference between Formula D vs Formula E Technician?

AspectFormula DFormula E Technician
Required CertificationsASE certifications, racing-specific trainingASE certifications, electrical and EV-specific training
Work EnvironmentRace tracks, automotive workshopsRace tracks, electric vehicle workshops
Industry UsageProfessional motorsports, drifting eventsElectric racing, sustainable motorsports
Common Search IntentRace car setup, drift car maintenanceElectric vehicle repair, EV system diagnostics

Formula D technicians focus on traditional drift racing vehicles, often working with combustion engines and specialized tuning. In contrast, Formula E technicians specialize in electric vehicles, requiring knowledge of EV systems and batteries. Both roles demand technical certifications and work in racing environments, but their focus differs based on vehicle type and industry trends.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Formula D driver, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Formula D driver, you need advanced driving skills, deep knowledge of vehicle dynamics, and a valid competition license. Familiarity with data logging systems, vehicle telemetry, and specialized racing simulators is also important. Quick decision-making, adaptability, and strong communication make drivers stand out, especially when working with pit crews and sponsors. These abilities ensure competitive performance, safety, and effective teamwork in the high-pressure environment of professional drifting.

What are Formula D drivers?

Formula D drivers are professional competitors who participate in Formula Drift, a premier motorsport series focused on the art and skill of drifting. Drifting is a driving technique where the driver intentionally oversteers, causing loss of traction in the rear wheels while maintaining control around a course. Formula D drivers must possess advanced car control, quick reflexes, and the ability to perform complex maneuvers at high speeds. They are judged on factors such as speed, angle, and style during head-to-head competitions. These drivers often have backgrounds in motorsports and dedicate significant time to training and vehicle setup.

What is a Formula D job?

A Formula D job typically refers to roles related to the Formula Drift (Formula D) racing series, which focuses on professional drift racing. Jobs can range from event management and marketing to technical roles such as mechanics, engineers, and driving instructors. Many positions involve working with race teams, event promoters, or sponsors to ensure the success of drift competitions. Depending on the role, responsibilities may include car setup, driver support, logistics, media coverage, or fan engagement.

What are some common challenges Formula D engineers face when optimizing vehicle performance during a racing season?

Formula D engineers often face the challenge of quickly adapting car setups to different track conditions and driver preferences, especially given the fast-paced and dynamic nature of drift racing. Balancing power delivery, suspension tuning, and tire selection requires both technical expertise and close collaboration with drivers and mechanics. Another common challenge is ensuring reliability and compliance with regulations while pushing the limits of performance. Effective communication and teamwork are essential, as engineers must coordinate with crew members and drivers to implement real-time adjustments during practice and competition.

Job description

About Bobbie

Bobbie makes European-style organic infant formula manufactured end-to-end in the U.S., because we believe every parent deserves to feed their baby with confidence, without judgment and without compromise. No mystery ingredients. No shortcuts. Just clean, thoughtfully made formula that parents can trust.

But Bobbie has never been just a formula company. When the 2022 national infant formula shortage left parents across the country unable to feed their babies, we closed our storefront to new customers rather than leave a single existing family without formula. We went to Washington. We got loud. And we opened our Heath, Ohio manufacturing facility to make sure something like that could never happen again.

That's who we are, and that's what you'd be joining.

Bobbie for Change

Our advocacy arm, Bobbie for Change, exists because making great formula isn't enough if the systems around parenthood are still broken. We fight for paid federal parental leave, push for legislation to prevent future formula shortages, advocate for feeding equity, and support families navigating impossible situations, including donating formula to parents impacted by breast and gynecologic cancers through the Bobbie Breasties program.

We're a company that genuinely believes becoming a parent makes you an activist. The people who work here feel that too.

The Role

The Brand Manager, Formula Lead is responsible for driving the growth, performance, and evolution of Bobbie's infant formula portfolio across DTC, retail, and emerging channels. Reporting to the Director of Product Success & GTM, this role serves as a business owner for key areas of the infant formula portfolio, partnering cross-functionally to identify opportunities, develop innovation, execute commercialization plans, and optimize in-market performance.

  • Partner with Marketing, Sales, Operations, Customer Experience, and Supply Chain teams to ensure launch readiness.
  • Manage timelines, key milestones, dependencies, and risks throughout the commercialization process.
  • Support development of launch plans, positioning, claims, messaging, and go-to-market recommendations.
  • Help ensure successful execution across retail, DTC, and emerging channels.

Product Performance & Portfolio Optimization

  • Monitor post-launch product performance and identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Analyze key business metrics including velocity, repeat rates, subscription performance, distribution, ratings and reviews, and consumer feedback.
  • Develop recommendations to improve product performance, consumer experience, and commercial outcomes.
  • Support lifecycle management initiatives including product updates, assortment changes, pricing evaluations, and portfolio transitions.

Consumer & Market Insights

  • Maintain a strong understanding of consumer needs, category trends, and competitive dynamics.
  • Partner with Insights teams to support consumer research, concept testing, claims testing, and market assessments.
  • Synthesize consumer, retailer, and performance data into actionable recommendations.
  • Help ensure business decisions remain grounded in consumer understanding and market realities.

What we would like you to have:
