Job description

Job Summary:
The Cold Form Fitter/Welder is responsible for fabricating, fitting, and welding cold-formed steel components in a manufacturing environment. This role requires interpreting blueprints and bills of materials (BOM), performing precise measurements, assembling components, and ensuring all work meets company quality and safety standards.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Follow blueprints and build documentation to verify the width, thickness, and length of cold-formed members and associated bill of materials (BOM).
• Understand and properly utilize measuring tools and equipment for dimensional verification and accuracy.
• Safely and effectively operate a plasma torch to cut, notch, and bevel materials in accordance with part specifications.
• Perform tack welding of components and structural members to required specifications and quality standards.
• Demonstrate strong mathematical skills, including the ability to work with fractions, decimals, angles, and degrees.
• Maintain strong attention to detail and consistently uphold a quality-focused mindset.
• Work effectively both independently and within a team-oriented environment.
• Maintain a high level of safety awareness at all times and comply with all company safety policies and procedures.
• Operate overhead cranes safely and efficiently when required.
• Perform any additional duties or responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2+ years of welding/fabrication experience in a steel or manufacturing environment preferred
  • Ability to pass a cold form weld test
  • Experience using plasma cutting equipment and welding processes
  • Strong understanding of blueprint reading and fabrication techniques

  • Ability to wear and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 75 pounds regularly
