Accounting Manager Job Responsibilities:
  • Executes the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process across multiple entities
  • Prepares journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Ensures proper revenue recognition, accruals, and cutoff procedures in accordance with U.S. GAAP
  • Maintains compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies
  • Ensures timely and accurate reconciliation of general ledger accounts, including resolution of reconciling items
  • Reviews accounting processes and recommends improvements to increase efficiency while maintaining strong internal controls
  • Prepares and reviews financial reporting and analysis for internal management, headquarters, and external stakeholders
  • Assists the Controller with annual audit activities, including preparation and review of audit support documentation
  • Ensures crossโ€‘training and adequate backup coverage within the accounting team
  • Ensures preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for internal management, external agencies, and banking or other financial partners
  • Assists in the annual budgeting process and related financial analysis
  • Performs or leads other duties and special projects as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Experience supporting external audits
  • Handsโ€‘on ERP experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Epicor Prophet 21 (P21) experience preferred
  • Inventory and cost accounting experience preferred
  • Experience partnering with IT or ERP administrators on system configuration, testing, and controls is a plus
  • Advanced Excel skills (reconciliations, analysis, reporting)
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
