Job description

thyssenkrupp integrated its Forging & Machining and Undercarriage businesses to start the new business unit Forged Technologies. With roughly 7,000 employees at 18 production sites in seven different countries, thyssenkrupp Forged Technologies has sales of over one billion euros and operates over 50 forging press lines and more than 150 machining and assembly lines in seven countries. The product portfolio includes undercarriage systems for heavy machinery as well as crankshafts, connecting rods, pistons, chassis products, transmission systems and rotor shafts for the automotive industry.

Forging Engineering Manager for thyssenkrupp Crankshaft Company, LLC in Danville, Illinois.

Duties include: oversee all Forging Engineering functions including process, and product engineering and product engineering-related projects for forging; oversee development of forge tooling designs for new parts, improve designs for existing parts, and coordinate with customer on full life cycle of parts; observe processes, monitor product from start to finish and provide direction; lead process qualification and validation activities for new products and ensure compliance with relevant industry standards; improve operational performance by identifying quality and customer needs, and direct team to identify and diagnose customer, process, and quality problems; collaborate with crossโ€‘functional teams to drive process enhancements and resolve technical challenges; plan, assign, and distribute work; and establish priorities, provide direction to team, and train team in methods and procedures.

Requirements

Bachelor degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automotive Engineering, related field, or equivalent foreign degree. 3 years of work experience as a Forging, Process, or Design Engineer. Must have 3 years of work experience with each of the following: thermal dynamics and forging processes; identifying areas for process improvement and implement strategies to enhance productivity; leading process qualification and validation activities for new products, and ensuring compliance with industry standards; researching forging industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices, and incorporating them into manufacturing process; and generating Process Engineering Change notices for internal and external customer design changes.

Salary Range: $102,086 to $112,000 per year.
