Job description

In this position you will be a member of Markit! Forestry's management team and you will report to the Vice President of Operations.
Location:  Markit!’s office in Colorado Springs, CO
Travel:  10 - 25%
Duties:
  • Oversee forestry projects from bidding and proposal through execution:
    • Attend project pre-bid meetings
    • Responsible for cost estimate generation
    • Read project prescriptions to understand the timeline, workflow, equipment and staffing needed for bidding
    • Write detailed technical and business proposals
    • Customer collaboration
    • Read, understand, and manage complex contracts
    • Budget preparation and project controls planning
    • Subcontractor development and management
    • Obtain appropriate permits and licenses
    • Cost controls/job status reports
    • Develop and manage Project Schedules
    • Measure, track and report quantities and milestones
    • Project invoicing preparation and tracking
    • Project closeout and reporting
  • Work closely with field personnel to deliver project requirements
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and quality standards
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Excellent organizational and motivational skills
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal ability
  • High Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, MS Word, MS Project and Adobe Acrobat
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Advanced knowledge of office machinery and cellular devices including computer, copier, tablet and cell phone

  • Travel to project sites
  • Possess a valid driver’s license, or ability to acquire one upon employment, and be insurable
Preferred Background & Experience:
  • 1-10 years’ experience in Operations or Project Management and Forestry, at any level
  • Degree in Construction Management, Forestry, Forestry Management, Engineering or equivalent
  • PMP or equivalent certification is a plus
  • Regional forestry experience is a plus
Compensation:  $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 annually dependent on qualifications and experience.
