Job description

Reports To: VP of Finance
Position Summary
Foresight Intelligence is looking for a degreed Staff Accountant who enjoys both precision and progress. In this role, you’ll work closely with the VP of Finance and play a hands-on role in keeping the company’s finances accurate, organized, and continually moving forward.
You’ll support daily accounting operations including accounts receivable, accounts payable, journal entries, reconciliations, and audit support, while also jumping into special projects that help strengthen how the business runs behind the scenes. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a small-company environment, where your work is visible; your contributions matter, and no two days look exactly the same.
Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the VP of Finance with daily accounting functions and financial operations
  • Ensure accurate accounting, proper filing, and timely vendor payment processing.
  • Process and record deposits and incoming payments
  • Manage collections and follow up on outstanding receivables
  • Prepare and balance journal entries in accordance with GAAP
  • Credit card entry and reconciliation
  • Prepare various ad hoc accounting and financial reports as requested
  • Maintain accurate and organized accounting records to support audits and internal reviews
  • 1099 Filing
  • Multi-State Sales Tax Research, Preparation, and Filing
  • Perform effectively in an environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Work in a collaborative team environment and establish cooperative working relationships.
  • Communicate with all levels of employees and external vendors in a clear and concise manner.
  • Provide clerical support to the team,
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • 4+ years of relevant accounting experience
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
  • Multi-State Sales Tax Research and Filing Experience (strongly preferred)
  • Experience with general ledger accounting and reconciliations
  • Hands on QuickBooks experience (strongly preferred)
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in standard office practices, procedures, and equipment, including scanning, copying, and filing systems
  • Experience and ability to work well with a team and inspire team action
  • Maintains a high standard of accountability and dependability
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks (i.e. exceptional organizational and time management skills!)

Physical Requirements

  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods
  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from worksite to another location such as customers office
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
