Job Description

Travel requirement - This position is located in Foster City, CA.ย  Minimal travel is required.

Job Description:

Theย Biovia ELNย Developer will be involved in developing anย Biovia'sย ELN (Electronic Laboratory Notebook).ย ย You will be working with a team to develop and implement an enterprise ELN system in a Pharmaceutical environment.

  • Develop code using .net, C# and Python
  • Write and perform Unit Tests
  • Write periodic status / progress reports ย 
  • Perform basic orย complex configuration of laboratory information systemsย 
  • Develop simple orย complex software functionality but with limited scope
  • Participate in peer reviews of code for coding standards, best practices, functionality, error handling, etc.
  • Write basic SQL queries using relational database concepts and schema design principles
  • Integrate laboratory instruments with scientific software packages
  • Develop simple orย complex,ย dynamic reportsย 
  • Break complex processes into smaller achievable pieces
  • Integrate scientific applications with other scientific or non-scientific applications
  • Participate and take leading role in requirements analysisย process with client stakeholders
  • Transform client requirements into design solutions
  • Design and develop reusable utility/library software for general use
  • Engineer designsย that satisfy current requirements and are extensible for future enhancement while keeping it cost effective for clients
  • Develop very complex / challenging algorithms and software designs having large project scope or large scaleย 
  • Perform architectural code and design evaluations
  • Lead development teams
  • Provide high level of technical leadership / mentoring to entire development team
  • Write system interfaces using pre-existing middleware
  • Author System Architecture and Deployment Plans

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience in .Net, C#, and Python programming
  • Bioviaย ELN Development experience a must
  • 4 Year degree in an applicable field
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong logical / analytical thinking
  • Ability to ย troubleshoot and solve problems
  • At least ย 4 years of experience in ELN Development
  • 5-8 years of software development experience in Laboratory Informatics projects
  • 5-8 years of experience working in regulated environments

Travel requirement:ย Theย job location is in Foster City, CA.ย  ย If based in the San Francisco Bay area, travel is minimal.ย  Outside of this area, travel is 50%+.
