Center Overview:

Crisis Service and Diagnostic Center is a program designed to offer individual tailored assistance and brief (up to 90-day) stabilization for a maximum of sixteen (16) adults aged 18 and above, who have intellectual or developmental disabilities and/or concurrent mental health diagnoses. These individuals are experiencing psychiatric symptoms and/or significant emotional/behavioral changes that negatively impact their functioning and jeopardize their ability to stay in their usual home environment. 

 

Position Overview:

As a Psychiatrist with River Edge, you will play a vital role in diagnosing, treating, and supporting individuals with mental illness, substance use disorders, co-occurring conditions, and developmental disabilities. You’ll provide direct psychiatric care including evaluations, medication management, and therapeutic guidance for individuals, groups, and families.

Location/Schedule:

750 Hazel Street, Macon, GA – Sunday-Saturday and Every Other Weekend 7am7pm or 7pm7am

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct clinical care to individuals who experience symptoms of mental illness, addiction, co-occurring disorders, or developmental disabilities.
  • Prescribes appropriate medication and obtains baseline metabolic indices as indicated and in accordance with all River Edge and professional/state/federal standards.
  • Orders medical assessments, consultations, referrals, medications, and lab tests as indicated for patients.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Active Physician license granted by the Georgia composite state board of medical examiners and certification in one of the following specialties: general psychiatry, forensic psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of post-licensure psychiatric experience in a multidisciplinary mental health setting.
