Maintaining objectivity and adhering to rigorous scientific standards is essential, especially when their analyses may significantly impact the outcome of legal cases.

What is forensic dentistry?

Forensic dentistry, also known as forensic odontology, is a specialized branch of dentistry that deals with the examination, handling, and presentation of dental evidence in legal investigations. Forensic dentists play a key role in identifying human remains through dental records, analyzing bite marks, and providing expert testimony in court cases. They work closely with law enforcement and medical examiners to help solve crimes and identify victims in cases of accidents, disasters, or criminal activity. Their expertise is crucial when other means of identification, such as fingerprints, are not available.
