Job description

The Pipe Foreman manages the lay out, assembly and installation of water, sewer and storm drain piping systems on company projects.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Study project specifications with project Superintendent to plan procedures for pipe installation
  • Coordinate and supervise daily activities of assigned crew
  • Operate heavy equipment as needed
  • Observe assigned equipment to detect machinery malfunctions and reports to management
  • Inspect work site to determine method of pipe installation and survey for potential hazards, conflicts or safety concerns
  • Inspect work to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and adherence to construction schedules
  • Use instruments such as lasers, grade rods, eye levels and transit levels to set appropriate grade for pipe installation
  • Enforces company policies and procedures
  • Responsible for adhering to company safety policy and enforcing safety with crew members
  • Establish a safe work environment that complies with OSHA standards and company safety program
  • Comply with federal, state and Company environmental policies
  • Review employee timecards
  • Perform weekly Tool Box talks with crew
  • Follow schedules provided and review weekly with crew


Qualifications and Education Requirements

Minimum 5 years’ experience in underground utility work

Must have a valid drivers license and passing MVR

Knowledge of standard construction equipment and materials

Knowledge of municipality & local utility authority specifications

Ability to use tablet for daily logs, time keeping, email etc.

Knowledge of construction best practices, equipment maintenance, and use, and OSHA guidelines

Ability to read drawings, submittals and blueprints and convey this information to others

Dedicated and hard working.

Must comply with Drug-Free workplace requirements

Strength and Endurance: Labor work is physically demanding, and a level of physical fitness is required.
