The Financial Analyst is responsible for system/processing of data for forecasting, budgeting, and management reporting. The role will be expected to provide clear explanation of financial results and will allow for creativity and freedom to solve financial problems faced by the organization.
As a Financial Analyst, you will:
  • With guidance from Finance Manager:
    • Assist with annual budget, monthly forecasting, and management reporting.
    • Deliver ad-hoc reporting and analysis for business line leaders.
    • Investigate trends in financial statements to support monthly forecasting process.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports provided to business line leaders.
  • Identify and maximize systems that are appropriate for the business area supported (including but not limited to Accounting, Reporting, Treasury, Forecasting & Planning).
  • Leverage current and new system functionality and apply these capabilities to improve current business processes (systems such as Excel, Tableau, Vena Solutions, etc.).
  • Initiate and participate in projects providing analysis, requirements, design, testing and implementation.
  • Evaluate and resolve issues and errors found within systems, maintaining the credibility and integrity of the data.
  • Responsible for breaking down complex datasets and providing detailed analysis in consumable ways to aid discussions with department leaders.
  • Collaborate with others in a team setting, either directly or indirectly.
  • Work across many different enterprise systems / processes while maintaining company confidential information standards.
  • Uphold Nicolet's philosophy and policies by maintaining appropriate controls to ensure full compliance with applicable laws and regulations, thereby fulfilling legal responsibilities and enhancing the quality of services provided by Nicolet.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, business analytics, economics, or mathematics.
  • 0-3 years of experience in finance, accounting, or data analytics.
  • Banking industry experience is preferred.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Strong logic-based skills (math, reasoning, analytical, decision-making).
  • Ability to formulate & execute basic to complex mathematical formulas and apply accounting-based principles to perform analysis that supports decision-making or other action.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Power Point, (Tableau experience is a plus).
  • Possess understanding of banking and financial markets and experience reviewing bank balance sheets, identifying, and addressing key financial and interest rate risks is a plus
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
