Job description

Job Purpose

The Grounds Maintenance Attendant is responsible for the maintenance, care, and enhancement of outdoor grounds and landscaped areas. This role involves performing routine landscaping and groundskeeping tasks to ensure the club grounds are safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing in accordance with organizational standards.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Mow, edge, and trim lawns using power and hand tools.
  • Plant, water, and maintain flowers, shrubs, trees, and grass.
  • Prune trees and shrubs to maintain health and appearance.
  • Remove weeds, leaves, and debris from landscaped areas.
  • Extensive walking, watering, and manual work
  • Perform seasonal clean-up.
  • Adhere to all safety standards, environmental regulations, and organizational procedures.
  • Interact professionally with supervisors, coworkers, and members as needed.
  • Treats all members, guests, and co-workers in a friendly, respectful manner in accordance with the standards of excellence of The Ford Field & River Club.
  • Assists in other departments and performs additional related duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge and ability to operate landscaping hand tools and light machinery.
  • Previous experience maintaining grounds or landscaping is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license required and a clean driving record.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality of work.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Dependability, punctuality, and professionalism.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.

The job requires constant walking, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling. Lifts 10-20 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Frequently carries 15 pounds. Works infrequently overhead. Able to push/pull tools and equipment to maneuver on all surfaces. Must have hand and wrist usage to operate light machinery and hand tools. There is frequent bending and reaching out with occasional climbing and crawling. Vision must be correctable to read and write. Hearing must be sufficient to understand conversation in a noisy environment. Occasional irregular hours to include weekends and holidays.
