Position Summary

The Product Line Manager (PLM) is a strategic product leader responsible for driving the development, execution, and performance of assigned footwear brands. This role partners cross-functionally with vendors, design, development, and sales teams to bring compelling product assortments to market.

Working closely with senior leadership, including the President/Co-Founder, the PLM leads product creation, business analysis, and go-to-market strategies to achieve brand and financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end product lifecycle: from concept and design through development, launch, and market rollout
  • Develop and execute category strategies, including assortment planning, pricing architecture, and product segmentation
  • Partner with design, development, and sourcing teams to ensure product aligns with brand vision, margin targets, and timelines
  • Analyze business performance and market trends to inform product decisions and drive growth
  • Create seasonal product briefs aligned with brand and category strategies
  • Present product strategies, concepts, and final assortments to internal stakeholders, sales teams, and key retail partners
  • Ensure product timelines are met and cross-functional teams are aligned throughout the development process
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment across merchandising, design, and sales
  • Maintain strong communication with internal teams and external vendors to ensure operational efficiency

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 7-10 years of experience in merchandising/buying, including:
    • 5-7 years in wholesale merchandising or buying
    • 2-4 years in a leadership or management role
  • Experience in fashion footwear strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to grow and develop product lines or brands
  • Strong business acumen with a deep understanding of financial metrics and performance drivers
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making abilities
  • Experience with merchandising systems, purchase orders, and product planning tools
  • Knowledge of international production processes
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (~20%)
