Come change the game with us. Apply today! Foot Locker, Inc. is hiring an Associate Buyer in our Champs Sports division supporting the Footwear category! The Associate Buyer is responsible for assisting the Buyer with the overall merchandising direction of a category or department(s) with the goal of meeting and exceeding sales and margin targets. Building a business that creates trend-setting buzz by incorporating consumer insights, business analytics, and competitive intelligence is needed for you to deliver in this role. This position will assist the Buyer with purchases and the negotiation of merchandise with vendors; partner with Merchandise Planners to develop financial strategies that maximize business opportunities; and work closely with the Merchandising, Marketing, and Store Optimization teams while focusing on our target demographic to provide a rich customer experience supported by best-in-class product assortments. LI-MN1 Responsibilities The Associate Buyer will assist the Buyer(s) with:
  • Developing an overall product strategy that maximizes sales, gross margin, and turn
  • Partnering with the E-commerce team to deliver strong performance via the Digital channel
  • Collaborating with Marketing to develop rich, product-driven, consumer-centric storytelling
  • Working with the Financial Planner to ensure all buys achieve optimized metrics
  • Prepping information for all recapping, seasonal planning, and open-to-buy meetings
  • Building bottom-up product assortments based on business results and marketplace trends
  • Analyzing reports in tandem with Merchandisers for store-level opportunities and liabilities
  • Managing a product feature calendar and all sample flow in support of marketing efforts
  • Tracking all inbound product from vendor shipment to in-store delivery
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in applicable field
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in retail and/or e-commerce merchandising is required
  • Proficiency in software applications: Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Power BI or similar systems preferred
  • Knowledge of Oracle PeopleSoft or similar assortment tools preferred
  • Demonstrated understanding of our product, customer, marketplace, and fashion trends
  • Ability to present and communicate clearly with management, peers and business partners
  • Strong financial acumen and naturally analytical
  • Ability to be detailed and organized while multi-tasking and prioritizing tight deadlines
  • Creative and strategic thinker
  • ~10% travel expectations
