UNT Dallas athletics supports 6 intercollegiate sports. The department is a member of the NAIA as well as the Sooner Athletic Conference. Position Overview
The University of North Texas at Dallas is seeking a dynamic, visionary, and student-centered leader to serve as the Head Coach for its Women's Flag Football program. This role presents a unique opportunity to build and lead a competitive, high-character program from the ground up, aligned with the mission and values of the university and the standards of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
The Head Coach will be responsible for establishing a culture of excellence that prioritizes academic achievement, athletic development, leadership, and personal growth. This individual will play a critical role in shaping the identity, visibility, and long-term success of Women's Flag Football at UNT Dallas.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Collegiate or high school coaching experience required.
- Background in flag football or related sports at a competitive level (playing or coaching.)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated success in recruiting and developing student-athletes.
- Strong understanding of NAIA rules, compliance, and eligibility standards.
- Ability to teach and develop sport-specific skills for collegiate Women's Flag Football.
- Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to build culture, motivate teams, and mentor student-athletes.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to grow a program's competitive and community impact.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree preferred; or the 5 years of equivalent experience.
- Head coaching experience preferred.
- Experience building or expanding an athletic program strongly preferred

- Valid driver's license
Job Duties
- Build, lead, and manage all aspects of the Women's Flag Football program, including strategic planning, practices, competition, and player development.
- Recruit, evaluate, retain, and develop student-athletes who align with UNT Dallas' academic standards and program culture, while monitoring academic progress and supporting student-athlete success initiatives.
- Establish and maintain a disciplined and competitive team environment that reflects university and departmental values.
- Ensure full compliance with NAIA, university, conference, and Title IX rules, regulations, and policies.
- Collaborate with athletic administration on budgeting, scheduling, program operations, and long-term program planning.
- Partner with athletic training and medical staff to prioritize student-athlete health, safety, and well-being.
- Oversee team travel, equipment, scheduling, and all operational and logistical needs of the program.
- Lead community engagement, branding, outreach, and visibility efforts to promote and grow the Women's Flag Football program.
- Support and actively participate in fundraising, sponsorship development, donor engagement, and advancement initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders-including campus partners, alumni, community organizations, and marketing/communications-to enhance program promotion, game-day experience, and the overall success and culture of UNT Dallas Athletics.
