Job description

Job Description The Director of Player Recruiting and On-Campus Experience - Football is responsible for leading and executing all aspects of the football program's on-campus recruiting strategy and prospective student-athlete experience. This position collaborates closely with the Head Football Coach, recruiting personnel, football operations staff, and campus partners to develop and deliver a first-class recruiting environment that enhances the program's ability to attract and retain talented student-athletes. The Director serves as the primary coordinator for recruiting visits and campus engagement initiatives while ensuring adherence to NCAA, conference, and institutional policies.

In alignment with Stetson University's mission and values, this position promotes an organized, relationship-rich, and student-centered recruiting experience that supports the football program's competitive success and overall mission. Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities: Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of all official visits, unofficial visits, Junior Days, game day recruiting events, and other football recruiting initiatives. Develop and manage the overall prospective student-athlete visit experience, ensuring a memorable and personalized recruiting environment.

Coordinate the "wow factor" components of recruiting visits, including photo shoots, uniform try-ons, facility experiences, personalized presentations, and campus tours. Manage all visit logistics, including prospect transportation, lodging, meals, itineraries, and related arrangements in accordance with NCAA, conference, and institutional guidelines. Collaborate with coaches, recruiting staff, athletic department personnel, and campus partners to execute successful recruiting events and programs.

Assist with football technology operations by facilitating team technology needs, troubleshooting equipment concerns, and serving as a liaison between Football and the University Information Technology department. Coordinate the transition of signed recruits to enrolled student-athletes by partnering with Admissions, Financial Aid, Academic Success, Compliance, Housing, and other university departments. Maintain accurate recruiting records, visit documentation, and related reports to support compliance and operational effectiveness.

Support recruiting communications and initiatives that enhance the visibility and competitiveness of the football program. Assist with football operations and special projects as assigned by the Head Football Coach. Perform other position-specific duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: The knowledge, skills, and abilities for this role include: Demonstrated leadership, collaboration, and relationship-building skills. Strong event planning, project management, and organizational abilities. Exceptional attention to detail and ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously.

Excellent customer service, hospitality, and constituent engagement skills. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented athletic environment.

Proficiency in leveraging technology, recruiting platforms, and digital tools to enhance recruiting operations. Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.

Support the University's Mission and Values in their role. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required; Master's degree preferred. Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in collegiate athletics, recruiting operations, event management, football administration, or a related field.

Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA recruiting legislation and compliance requirements. Exceptional organizational, planning, and project management skills. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience developing positive relationships with prospective student-athletes, families, coaches, and campus stakeholders. Proficiency with recruiting software platforms such as ARMS, Front Rush, Teamworks, or related systems, as well as Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel as necessary. Desire to join a distinct university community committed to inclusive excellence, kindness, collaboration, and student success. Must possess current driver license and an insurable driving record through the university's insurance provider.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications: Previous experience working in NCAA Division I football recruiting operations. Experience coordinating large-scale recruiting events and campus visit programs. Knowledge of collegiate admissions processes and student-athlete enrollment procedures.

Experience managing recruiting technologies, social media initiatives, and creative recruiting experiences. Demonstrated success collaborating across athletic and campus departments to achieve recruiting goals. Strong understanding of the student-athlete lifecycle from recruitment through enrollment and retention.

Work Environment: This position operates in both professional office environments and outdoor athletic venues, including football practices, games, recruiting events, and activities that may occur during inclement weather conditions. The role routinely utilizes standard office equipment and various digital technologies, including laptop computers, mobile devices, printers, copiers, and related equipment. This position requires flexibility in work schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel, as well as the ability to respond to operational needs on short notice.

Work authorization sponsorship may be available for this position. However, sponsorship is contingent upon the non-applicability of the visa petition fees outlined in the relevant Executive Order signed September 19, 2025. Due to the recent federally mandated increased financial expense, the university is not in a position to absorb this significantly increased cost of sponsorship for new H-1B petitions at this time.

International candidates are encouraged to apply but should be aware that eligibility for sponsorship will be evaluated in accordance with current U.S. immigration regulations and institutional policies.
