Job Summary

The Airline Catering Food Warehouse Manager is responsible for leading all warehouse operations supporting our 24/7 airline catering facility. This position oversees receiving, storage, inventory control, product rotation, and internal distribution while ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and company standards.

The ideal candidate is an experienced warehouse leader with a strong background in food production, supply chain management, inventory control, and team development. This individual will work closely with Production, Purchasing, Transportation, and Food Safety teams to maintain operational excellence and ensure every flight is supplied accurately and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations & Inventory Management

Lead all warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory control, decanting, thawing, staging, and distribution of products.
Manage dry, refrigerated, and frozen inventory while maintaining proper product rotation using FIFO and FEFO methods.
Maintain accurate inventory records through routine cycle counts, audits, and inventory reconciliation.
Ensure timely replenishment of ingredients, packaging, beverages, disposables, and production supplies.
Monitor inventory levels to minimize shortages, spoilage, and product waste.
Coordinate internal product movement to support production schedules and on-time flight departures.
Maintain warehouse organization, cleanliness, and efficiency throughout all storage areas.

Food Safety, Compliance & Quality

Ensure compliance with HACCP, FDA, OSHA, GMP, and all company food safety standards.
Maintain temperature-controlled storage areas and proper cold chain management.
Conduct routine warehouse inspections and food safety audits.
Ensure sanitation procedures and allergen control programs are consistently followed.
Maintain accurate food safety documentation and audit-ready records.
Promote a culture where food safety, quality, and workplace safety are top priorities.

Leadership & Team Development

Recruit, train, coach, and develop warehouse supervisors and hourly team members.
Establish clear performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
Monitor productivity, attendance, and labor efficiency while promoting accountability.
Develop cross-training opportunities to improve operational flexibility.
Foster a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment focused on continuous improvement.
Lead by example while maintaining Abby’s commitment to professionalism and customer service.

Operational Excellence

Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance workflow, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency.
Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve productivity, and optimize warehouse processes.
Partner with Production, Purchasing, Transportation, and Food Safety departments to support operational goals.
Coordinate equipment maintenance and report repair needs to minimize operational downtime.
Ensure warehouse operations consistently support production schedules and customer commitments.

Reporting & Performance

Prepare and review inventory, labor, productivity, and operational reports.
Analyze warehouse performance metrics and recommend improvements.
Monitor labor utilization and staffing needs.
Assist leadership with forecasting inventory requirements and operational planning.
Support company initiatives focused on cost savings and operational excellence.

Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in warehouse operations, airline catering, food manufacturing, distribution, or supply chain management.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control, receiving, storage, and warehouse operations.
  • Experience managing refrigerated and frozen inventory.
  • Working knowledge of HACCP, FDA, OSHA, and food safety regulations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.


Preferred

  • Airline catering or aviation food service experience.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems, or XtraChef by Toast.
  • ServSafe Manager Certification. HACCP Certification. Forklift Certification.
  • Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of Halal food handling procedures is a plus.
