Our Store Managers are instrumental to the success of our retail store operations! Store Managers create outstanding shopping environments, while focusing on key performance metrics, marketing/promotional activities, merchandising and inventory management, and community stewardship. Be part of it!
No two days are the same, but you can expect to:
  • Support and execute in-store promotional activities with a high level of engagement and oversight on promotions and merchandising direction
  • Be a Servant Leader by interviewing, hiring, orientating, and training new associates. Serve as a role model, mentor and resource. Manage performance by coaching for success
  • Assess voice of customer data to identify customer experience, product selection needs, and opportunities for improvement
  • Develop the weekly work schedule utilizing the workforce management tool to achieve the weekly allocated labor target while maintaining compliance with all local, state and federal laws
  • Execute and grow the external order programs such as e-comm and express orders

If this sounds like you, make sure you also meet these requirements:
  • 3 or more years of previous grocery or retail management experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Hands-on leadership experience in grocery retail (e.g. Produce, Deli/Bakery, or Meat/Seafood departments) is highly preferred
  • Retail is demanding, and a 50+ hour per week schedule can be expected at Store Manager level, including 10 hour workdays, shifts that span pre-opening/closing hours, and occasional six-day workweeks throughout the year
  • Experience in safe food handling and storage practices is required
  • Business acumen to understand and leverage financial reporting in driving decisions that positively influence business outcomes
  • Ability to unload merchandise from delivery trucks, organize merchandise, and transfer merchandise from stockroom to store
  • High School Diploma / Equivalent (required); Bachelor's in Business or in a related field (preferred)
  • You must maintain a valid driver's license and safe driving record per GFS policy
