Job description

South Country Co-op is seeking a friendly and customer-focused Bakery Clerk to join our team at the 13th Ave Food Store in Medicine Hat, Alberta. If you're passionate about providing exceptional customer experiences, we'd love to hear from you!

Reporting to the Baker Manager, the Bakery Clerk is responsible for providing excellent service to bakery customers, bagging buns and bread, slicing bread, and performing good housekeeping and light cleaning. Duties may also include helping with decorating products.

Qualifications: Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work well within multi-generational teams, and a commitment to exceptional customer service. Preference will be given to individuals with bakery experience.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age and completed Grade 9
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience and knowledge of the Bakery Department or retail are an asset
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Compliance with safety and sanitation procedures
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs., including waist level and low-level lifts; frequent turning and reaching
  • High level of integrity and a strong work ethic
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage time effectively

Work Schedule:

This position requires full availability, including weekdays, weekends and available to work between 4am to 10pm.ย
