Job Description Summary
The purpose of this position is to provide catering services to the college community and to assist with daily food service operations.
This is accomplished by arranging schedules, delivering food, setting up the area to be catered, and cleaning the areas after the event or meeting.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
One year related experience.
Valid Texas Driver License with the ability to be insurable by Del Mar College.
Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Knowledge and ability to understand and follow basic operational, technical, cashiering and office processes.
Basic food prep skills.

Job Duty
Assist with the planning and scheduling of catering events. Work with customers to determine their catering needs and preferences for meetings or events. Assist with food preparation for the catered events. Other duties as assigned.

Work with Food Service Manager to determine quantities and orders supplies for each event.
When multiple events are scheduled, assist Cook to determine quantities and orders supplies for each event.
Deliver food and supplies on time and to the correct location, set up each event with proper equipment and food products, ensure that all food is delivered at correct temperature and correct presentation; ensure all catering supplies, food, and equipment are correctly loaded in van for delivery to events.
In the event that caterings must be delivered to separate locations, Food Service Caterer-Worker will assist with delivery and setup of food items and equipment and if necessary, service event as well.
Complete break down of equipment and clean up after each event and assist with cleaning and sanitizing all catering equipment and supplies
Job Duty
Assist with food service operations by greeting and directing customers, operating the cash register and restocking merchandise, preparing and serving food, and cleaning and sanitizing the food service areas.
Provide clerical support for the department by answering the phones and assisting customers with catering questions and needs. Send and check calendars and communication for upcoming needs and catering events. Receive and distribute mail.
