Summary:ย 

Food Service employees play an essential role in supporting the health, nutrition, and well-being of students by preparing and serving nutritious meals in a safe, efficient, and customer-focused manner. Employees are expected to follow established guidelines, and food safety regulations while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in all kitchen and dining areas.

Food Service employees work collaboratively as part of the school's food service team to ensure timely meal service, positive interactions with students and staff, and compliance with district, state, and federal requirements. Reliability, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing excellent service to students are key expectations for all food service employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to operate a point-of-sale (POS) system and handle cash accurately
  • Strong customer service skills when working with students and staff
  • Ability to work well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to assist in multiple cafeteria stations as needed
  • Ability to stock and maintain workstations with food, beverages, and supplies
  • Knowledge of or ability to follow National School Lunch Program guidelines
  • Ability to maintain National School Lunch Program production records
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and follow food safety and sanitation standard
  • Comfortable using approved cleaning chemicals safely
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light lifting
  • Basic kitchen skills
  • Ability to perform cleaning duties using a commercial dishwasher
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Attend unit meetings, in service trainings, and related events to obtain information necessary to perform job dutiesย

Education and/or Experience

Mathematical Skills
