Position Description

We are seeking a Food Service Assistant to join our team and help provide nutritious, quality meals to individuals served and staff at our site. This role is vital to maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming kitchen environment where food service supports health and wellness. If you enjoy working in a team-oriented setting and take pride in food safety and service, this is the opportunity for you.
What You'll Do
  • Prepare and serve food portions, beverages, and meals according to menus and diet cards for individuals served.
  • Follow sanitation practices by cleaning daily, maintaining proper storage, and ensuring all temperature logs are completed.
  • Ensure food safety by preventing cross-contamination, maintaining proper temperatures, and creating a safe environment for individuals served and staff.
  • Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, following scheduled cleaning routines and reporting repair needs promptly.
  • Accurately complete production records, ensuring compliance with HACCP standards.
  • Deliver food carts to units and return them after meals.
  • Maintain personal hygiene and follow infection control standards in accordance with local health department guidelines.

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).

Experience
  • Food service experience (preferred).

Licenses/Certifications
  • ServSafe certification (must be obtained within three (3) months of employment).
