A Food Security Internship is a temporary position designed to give students or recent graduates hands-on experience working with organizations focused on improving access to sufficient, safe, and nutritious food. Interns typically assist with research, data analysis, program implementation, and community outreach related to food security issues. This role helps interns gain practical skills and insights into the challenges and solutions surrounding food insecurity at local, national, or global levels. Food Security Internships may be offered by non-profits, government agencies, or international organizations and can be an important step for those interested in careers in public health, international development, or agriculture.

These tasks help interns gain hands-on experience in addressing food insecurity while directly contributing to the organization's efforts to improve food access and distribution. Interns may also collaborate with team members on educational campaigns or grant writing, providing insight into both direct service and behind-the-scenes operations. This exposure allows interns to develop a well-rounded understanding of food security initiatives and prepare for future roles in the sector.
