Job Description A leading food manufacturing organization is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead daily production operations within a high-volume manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for driving safety, quality, productivity, and team performance while ensuring compliance with food safety and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who excels at developing employees, improving processes, and delivering operational results in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Production Leadership Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to achieve production schedules, quality expectations, and customer requirements. Monitor staffing levels, equipment utilization, and material flow to maximize operational efficiency. Partner with maintenance and support teams to minimize downtime and resolve production issues. Optimize labor, equipment, and raw material usage while meeting productivity and cost objectives. Safety & Regulatory Compliance Promote and enforce a strong safety culture throughout the facility. Conduct safety meetings, risk assessments, and incident investigations. Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and all company safety policies. Maintain compliance with environmental regulations related to waste management, air quality, and water quality. Food Safety & Quality Ensure adherence to HACCP, GMP, sanitation, and food safety programs. Verify products consistently meet established quality specifications and standard operating procedures. Lead corrective actions for quality or compliance issues and implement preventive measures. Support internal and external audits while maintaining documentation and regulatory compliance. Continuous Improvement Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives that increase productivity and reduce waste. Identify process improvement opportunities that enhance efficiency, quality, and operational performance. Participate in cross-functional projects focused on operational excellence. Leadership & Team Development Coach, mentor, and develop frontline production associates. Manage employee performance, training, and ongoing professional development. Foster a collaborative, accountable, and engaged team environment that supports retention and growth. Reporting & Communication Maintain accurate production, quality, attendance, and performance records. Communicate production results, challenges, and improvement opportunities to plant leadership. Collaborate with quality, maintenance, engineering, supply chain, and other departments to achieve operational goals. Job Requirements High School Diploma or GED. 3–5 years of manufacturing experience. Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Experience working in a fast-paced production environment. Knowledge of quality systems, safety regulations, and manufacturing best practices. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems. Preferred Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field. Food, poultry, protein, beverage, dairy, or consumer packaged goods manufacturing experience. Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma methodologies. Certifications such as Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, OSHA 10/30, or similar.
